What We Do

Our projects

Our organization is involved in numerous interventions, achieved in partnership with key stakeholders.

Advancing young people's sexual reproductive health and rights

We believe there is need to challenge gender inequality and social norms that prevent fulfilment of sexual reproductive health and rights of adolescents and young people, especially girls and young women. Engagement with key stakeholders is crucial in changing attitudes norms and behavior. CASDI Trust, promotes intergenerational dialogues on SRH, as well as engage boys and men as beneficiaries, rights holders and as agents of change in challenging dominant norms of masculinity. Leadership & health systems at local and national level are also engaged in challenging harmful practices and realizing SRHR for adolescents and young people in Zimbabwe.

sexual gender based violence & Comprehensive Sexuality Education

CASDI Trust facilitates access to protective measures for victims of sexual violence including rape, through mechanisms that ensure care, support and protection such as access to healthcare, psychosocial support and effective means to seek justice and redress. This effort is complemented by the Comprehensive Sexuality Education Initiative for both adolescents and young people to enable them to gain knowledge, explore values and attitudes, and develop skills they need to make conscious, healthy and respectful choices and about their relationships and sexuality.

Access to Adolescent and youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health services

CASDI Trust works on ensuring that services are available to the most vulnerable and excluded adolescents and young people including those living with disabilities, and young key populations such as young sexworkers. We believe that all sexually active adolescents and young people with unmet family planning needs should access services that include contraceptive services, provided free of discrimination, stigma and coercion.

research & Advocacy

For example, all women and girls must have access to safe abortion services in an unrestricted environment, without fear of persecution or penalties. This is necessary in order to prevent maternal morbidity and mortality due to unsafe abortions in restricted environments. CASDI Trust, through its research initiatives, is contributing to the national discourse on promoting access to safe and legal abortion services by adolescents and young people in Zimbabwe.
